With Chicago same-day crowns at Private Dental Services, certain crowns can be designed and placed in one visit using digital scanning and in-office fabrication. That means no messy impressions and, in many cases, no temporary crown to manage between appointments.

Are Chicago same-day crowns as durable as traditional crowns?

Yes. Same-day crowns are made from strong materials such as porcelain and zirconia and are designed for the same long-term durability as crowns made in a traditional two-visit process.

Do I still need a temporary crown?

In many cases, no. Because the permanent crown is made and placed during the same appointment, a temporary crown is often unnecessary.

Can every crown be done in one visit?

Many crowns can be completed in a single visit, but not all cases are suitable. Dr. King will evaluate your tooth and let you know whether a same-day crown is the right approach for you.

Does getting a same-day crown require impressions?

No traditional impressions are needed. We use the PrimeScan® digital scanner to capture precise images of your tooth, which is more comfortable than conventional impression material.

Instead of a traditional impression, we capture precise 3D images of your tooth with the PrimeScan® digital scanner. This gives us an accurate model of your tooth and bite in minutes.

Digital design

Using PrimePrint® technology and our digital workflow, the crown is designed to fit your tooth and match your surrounding teeth.

In-office fabrication and placement

The crown is produced and placed during the same appointment, so your tooth is protected and restored without a second visit. Our in-house lab and digital tools make this single-visit care possible.

Materials built to last

Same-day crowns are made from durable materials such as porcelain and zirconia, chosen to withstand normal chewing forces while blending naturally with your smile. The result is a restoration that looks like a natural tooth and stands up to everyday use.

When a same-day crown is the right choice

Same-day crowns are well-suited to many restorative situations, including a cracked tooth, a large or failing filling, or a tooth weakened by decay. They are part of our broader restorative care. During your visit, Dr. Anthony King will evaluate the tooth and confirm whether a same-day crown is appropriate or whether another approach, such as dental implants for a missing tooth, would serve you better.
